Jung Yong-hwa first Korean male celebrity on Elle China cover

Elle Magazine China is celebrating its 70th anniversary in February and boy band CNBLUE’s Jung Yong-hwa has posed for the cover of its latest issue.

The title of Jung’s special spread is dubbed, “Voice of Elle,” referring to the award of the same title, which the singer received at the “2015 Elle China Style Awards.” The singer was the only K-pop artist to attend and perform at the magazine’s event.

In a follow-up interview, he revealed his thoughts on his career as a musician. “I always want to show that I’m confident,” he said. “I usually get inspired by what happens around me on a daily basis; this is why I’m capable to writing so many songs.”

The singer’s soaring popularity within China is evident from the fact that he topped China’s microblogging website Weibo’s K-pop chart--Gaon Weibo Chart for 62 straight weeks.
