EXO's 'EX'ACT,' top-selling album of first half
EXO and the GFriend were the top-tier K-pop groups in the first half of this year as far as album sales and the streaming number, respectively, are concerned, a local music chart company said Friday.
According to the first-half music industry tally released by the Gaon Chart, the Korean vision of the boy band EXO's third and latest full-length studio album "EX'ACT" topped the Albums Top 100 list, selling 524,823 copies. The rising girl group GFriend was at No. 1 on the Digital Top 100 chart for "Rough" scoring more than 70 million in streaming number.

Including "EX'ACT," a total of nine albums have sold more than 100,000 copies.
Bangtan Boys, also known by the abbreviated name BTS, was at No. 2 for its three-volume album "Hwayangyeonhw," meaning "the most beautiful moments of life." It sold 319,327 copies.
"Love & Letter," the first full-length album by the boy band Seventeen, was the third top-selling album.
Next came boy group GOT7's EP album "Flight Log: Departure"(157,496); "Page Two," an EP album by girl group Twice (136,904); "Press It," the first full-length album by the boy band SHINee's Taemin (114,017); "Why," an EP album by Taeyeon, a member of the Girls' Generation (103,784).
The JYJ member Kim Jae-joong's second full-length album "N.O.X" failed to surpass the 100,000 mark in sales but made the top 10 list with 85,420. (Yonhap)
