EXO celebrated the 25th birthday of its member Lay, which was on Friday, as well as the first anniversary since the launch of Naver V app in August.

“Naver V app shows helped us get closer to you fans,” said Suho, leader of the boy band.

The live show was the first that took to the “dual camera system,” where idol group members hold two different cameras simultaneously and the two angles appear in one screen.

Suho said the “dual camera system” was “somewhat distracting,” while other members agreed they “liked the system,” saying the function would enable the boy band to hold a simultaneous broadcast.

EXO members later in the show expressed gratitude to fans who sent them meal boxes.

EXO was the opening act in the Korean Music Wave Festival, followed by GFriend, Twice, BTS and Girls’ Generation.

B1A4

Boy band B1A4 started a live broadcast after the members finished their gig in Yeouido, Seoul.

The quintet’s live performance took place prior to the annual Seoul International Fireworks Festival. Other K-pop stars, including I.O.I and Mamamoo, performed at the venue.

The Naver V app show consisted of two parts: One on the way passing through a throng of fans to a moored boat and the other from the boat to their van. The sun set while B1A4 members were on the boat.

Sandeul said the boat-riding experience reminded him of a similar trip he had taken in Chicago with his B1A4 bandmates.

After they got off the boat, they strolled along the riverside to get to the van for about 10 minutes.

While walking, Gongchan reminded fans that Sandeul would perform his new song “Stay As You Are” at SBS’ music competition program “Inkigayo.”

Gong Minzy

Solo singer Gong Minzy opened a live broadcast on her way to throw the first pitch for Incheon-based professional baseball team SK Wyverns at Munhak Baseball Stadium on Saturday.

Gong, a former member of girl group 2NE1, has not thrown a first pitch in her 7-year career as a musician.

Gong said she has watched ball games before, but did not understand the rules. The soloist, however, added she was “willing to learn to play baseball someday” and hoped she could enjoy watching the game.

SK Wyverns, home team, defeated Samsung Lions 7-6 in the Saturday game and ended the 2016 season in the sixth place.

Naver’s real-time broadcasting app V allows fans to interact with their favorite K-pop stars through live broadcasts. The app is available for Android and iOS. For more information, visit http://www.vlive.tv.
