Stars share traumatic experiences

Stars always seem to carry an air of confidence and happiness, but that does not mean that they haven‘t experienced their fair share of hardships.

During different broadcasts these stars confessed some traumatic experiences.

Sunny

When Sunny was born her family moved to the Kuwait in the Middle East, during the time of the Gulf War. As a result, Sunny was traumatized by the pyrotechnics and has a lasting fear of loud explosions.

She still gets startled and scared on stage when there are loud noises, and so her fellow group members have a habit of blocking her ears for her.

Sulli

Sulli recently overcame her fear of water by acquiring a scuba-diving license. She revealed that when she was young, older girls at her church had bullied and nearly drowned her.

She said, “Those girls would force my head into the water and wouldn’t let me get out. That memory still haunts me today.”

Lee Sung-kyung

Actress Lee Sung-kyung recently opened about her traumatic experience with kimchi. She said, “When I was young, my teacher force-fed me kimchi because I was picky with my food.”

She admitted that she still can‘t eat kimchi because of her former teacher.

Namjoo

Apink’s Namjoo recently attempted to overcome her stage fright by appearing on MBC‘s “King of Mask Singer.”

She confessed that after she debuted, she was severely criticized by netizens. This scarred her self-esteem and she has avoided being on stage alone ever since.

Kong Hyo-jin

In 2014, actress Kong Hyo-jin was the victim of a triple-car accident. She suffered severe injuries physically and psychologically.

She sustained severe injuries in her arm and leg, and had to undergo two surgeries. In addition, she developed a sleeping disorder and a fear of cars, and she had to receive mental health care.
