EXO-CBX to debut in Japan on May 24

EXO-CBX -- the subunit of boy band EXO -- will make its official debut in Japan on May 24 with an EP titled “Girls,” according to its agency.

S.M. Entertainment announced the details of the debut via official Japanese website of EXO, including the plan for showcase “Colorful Box” on June 7. The time and location of the showcase will be decided on the day of the event.

EXO-CBX -- consisting of Chen, Baekhyun and Xiumin -- was named after the initials of its members. The subunit debuted in Korea with an EP titled “Hey Mama!” in October 2016.

It enjoyed immediate success upon release, selling some 276,000 copies of the EP and with the lead track topping Billboard’s World Albums chart in November.

EXO-CBX had previously announced its official debut in Japan through a live broadcast held on messaging application Line in March.
