"Cheese in the Trap," a new South Korean movie starring Park Hae-jin, will be available for streaming on the Chinese social media site Weibo next month, according to the star's agency Friday.

The romantic comedy, an adaptation from 2016's popular TV series of the same name, will be made available on Weibo's "Park Hae-jin V+" page April 10, Mountain Movement Entertainment said. The movie opened at the South Korean box office two weeks ago.

The film, along with bonus content, will be split into 11 episodes. The first two episodes will be made free.

The stream was planned to coincide with the launch of Park's Weibo page. The film will be the first South Korean movie to be streamed on the platform, according to the company.

Park rose to fame in China for his role in the 2011 Chinese drama "Qian Duo Duo Get Married," which became a nationwide sensation. He later starred in three more dramas, including "Far Away Love," which earned him a top acting award in the country. (Yonhap)
