Mingyu of boy band Seventeen soothes the worried fans in a live broadcast held via Naver’s V app Monday.

“While we are promoting in Japan, I couldn’t join the promotion schedule for two days due to my health problem,” the singer said starting up the broadcast. “As many worried about me and encouraged me to get better soon. Thank you.”

“I’ve been so sick for about three days that I thought ‘Wow, I can be sick this much’ but when I woke up this morning, ta-ra! I was feeling so good! Finally!”

“I really wanted to get better. I felt really bad about not being able to join the promotion schedules and I felt so sorry for the fans who came to the event that day but it’s great that I got better quickly,” he said.

“I wanted to tell you that I’m healthy again so I held the broadcast,” he said. “I’m better now so don’t worry about me. Please stay healthy, everyone.”

“I will enjoy the rest of the work in Japan and go back to Korea so Carats (Seventeen’s fan club name) in Korea, don’t worry too much about me,” he said. “Carats in Japan, I’m so sorry. I will get better so that I can perform for you soon.”

Singer Kim Yong-guk, of now-disbanded boy band JBJ, communicated with his fans in a live broadcast held via Naver’s V app Monday.

In the broadcast, Kim boasted the selfie he took with rapper Yoon Mi-rae. Yoon featured on Kim’s debut single as solo singer, set to be released in this month.

“I actually took the selfie of just two of us to post it (on social media) but I looked too stiff in the photo,” he said. “Because I was taking photo with a great senior singer I was very tensed. So I could not post it.”

“Look, I look very tense,” he said while showing the photo he took with Yoon.

“When I saw the photo, I thought I looked like a freshman at a school,” he said.

The singer appeared on the second season of Mnet’s survival audition show “Produce 101” last year. He failed to secure a spot in the final 11-member group, but proved popular thanks to plenty of public exposure during the show, which led to his debut as a member of JBJ.

The group recently wrapped up its promotional activities and disbanded. Kim is set to make a fresh start as a solo singer within this month.

Yeoreum of girl group Hello Venus celebrated her 23rd birthday with her fans in a live broadcast held via Naver’s V app Monday.

“As I celebrate my birthday for the fourth year, I got fans who call me Yeoreum nuna or Yeoreum unni,” she said. Korean people use “nuna” (men) and “unni” (women) to address older female friends in a friendly way. “That means I got older now.”

During the broadcast, she celebrated the summer birthday by blowing out candles on a birthday cake and having a cocktail while playing Winner’s song “Island.” Her name Yeoreum means summer in Korean.

When asked why she chose the song, she said, “Well, our song ‘Paradise’ is also very good but I think the beat (of ‘Island’) makes me excited. I think it is very good to listen to the song when you feel blue.”

Hello Venus debuted in 2012 as six-member act which consisted of Alice, Nara, Lime, Yooara, Yoonjo and Yooyoung. Ara and Yoonjo left the group in 2014 while Seoyoung and Yeoreum joined the group in the year.
