The father of GFriend‘s Sowon has passed away, according to the singer’s agency.

Source Music stated late Friday evening that Sowon’s father, who had been suffering a chronic disease, passed away earlier that day and that Sowon is currently sharing her sorrow with her families. The agency also said that Sowon won’t be able to participate in upcoming group activities for some time as she mourns.

The funeral will be exclusively for family, it added.

GFriend released its “Time for the Moon Night” EP at the end of April.
