A cartoon parody of Sunmi’s “Siren” video has gone viral on YouTube.

The one-minute video by YouTuber Chongmyeotmyung re-creates the music video in a comical way.

At the beginning of the kitschy video, a cartoon version of Sunmi appears in a bathrobe with her hair covered with a towel. During the scene, the animated caricature of the singer is narrated by a male voice actor, creating a shock factor for viewers when the singer coughs like she did in her music video.

The low-budget style clip then proceeds further as the music starts and the screen turns red.

With an abridged version of the song playing in the background, the bizarre interpretation of the “Siren” video captures memorable moments from the original video, including when Sunmi encounters another version of herself in a room and frowns.

While the video appears to be the rawest form of slapstick humor at first glance, the creator of the video paid enough attention to detail, as Sunmi’s outfits and choreography resembled those in the original video.

“I never watch K-pop music videos but whenever I watch Chongmyeotmyung’s versions, I become curious enough to watch the original versions,” one comment on YouTube read.

The video, which ends with a twist and a jab at JYP Entertainment, has been watched over 180,000 times as of Friday afternoon.

“It’s like she was having a horrible nightmare and when she woke up she found J.Y. Park next to her, which means she’s still in Wonder Girls singing so hot,” another user wrote.

The channel also has parody versions of the singer’s previous singles “Heroine” and “Gashina.”
