Broadcast date: Oct. 17
Starring: Black Pink, Twice, Apink
Naver’s video streaming website V Live hosts 921 channels in total -- that means you can expect to find one channel for virtually every celebrity. The Korea Herald has rounded up the three most followed female K-pop acts on the platform for your convenience. Bear in mind the number of followers below are tallied at the time of writing. Take a look:
1. Black Pink (4,262,036)
(YG Entertainment) |
Black Pink makes frequent use of the V Live platform to upload its music videos, vlogs, digital-only shows such as the massively popular “Black Pink House,” and video messages to fans.
Its latest V Live update was Jennie’s tutorial video, in which the Black Pink star demonstrated to fans how to make a phone case just like hers. Jennie and Jisoo picked up all the necessary items at a stationery store and made a new phone case from scratch. Watch the video at https://www.vlive.tv/video/93463.
2. Twice (4,066,072)
(JYP Entertainment) |
The Twice members are also heavy V Live users, going live frequently to communicate with fans.
The band’s most recent live broadcast is Sana’s solo live broadcast. Filmed from her bedroom, Sana read her fans’ comments one by one. The Japanese member wished fans a nice day ahead, telling them how happy she can be with the simple things in her life. “My idea of happiness is when I go out for a nice dinner with Twice members after a long day. That makes me so happy,” she said. Watch Sana’s broadcast at https://www.vlive.tv/video/94327.
3. Apink (2,105,651)
(Plan A Entertainment) |
Originally a seven-member act, Apink suffered the departure of one member Hong Yoo-kyung in April 2013. “Mr. Chu,” released in 2014, became the group’s break-through hit, allowing the band to win six music show trophies.
Apink’s most recent video on V Live is vocalist Jeong Eun-ji’s solo music video for third EP “Hyehwa.” Jeong said in a press conference for her new album that her music is “what keeps (her) going.” Watch the new music video at https://www.vlive.tv/video/94209.
