Minhyuk of BTOB bid an emotional goodbye to fans all over the world during his last week promoting his first solo single, “Ya.”

The Saturday V Live broadcast featuring the BTOB member, who has since enlisted in the Army, kicks off with Minhyuk backstage before an appearance on the music show “Show Champion.” He shows viewers all the prepackaged meals he has received from fans.

“These are lunches I received from the Melodies. I got so many of them -- eel, fries, a stuffed pear. I’ve been practicing for my upcoming solo concert at night after finishing my scheduled activities around 2 or 3 a.m., and today, I’m going for these,” said Minhyuk, grabbing one of the boxes.

The artist was set to perform “Ya,” the lead track on his first solo album, “Hutazone,” on the music show.




While waiting backstage, he kept chatting with fans, and he mentioned his upcoming enlistment.

“I don’t have any concerns about my strength once I join the Army. I’m confident that I can top anyone with my willpower,” said Minhyuk.

After the amazing performance, he thanked his fans for supporting him, saying, “Thank you, Melodies, who’ve raised their voices to cheer me on today. Thanks to you, I made a video that is worth playing for a very long time.”

Minhyuk got happier as his bandmate Peniel made a surprise visit backstage.

Peniel said he couldn’t attend Minhyuk’s concert because he had to visit the US in early February, but Minhyuk repeatedly thanked him for coming over.




Minhyuk wrapped up the video by bidding goodbye to his fans all over the world in various languages including English, Japanese, Chinese, Thai and French.

Lastly, in Korean, he said, “So this was my very last stage performance before joining the Army, and it feels weird. Looking back at my last seven years with BTOB, I want to say that I was very happy. See you at my concert!”




The singer began his mandatory military service Feb. 7, following in the footsteps of bandmate Lee Chang-sub, after wrapping up his first solo concert in Seoul. The concert was titled “Hutazone: Tonight.”
