J-Hope celebrates 26th birthday with fans

BTS member J-Hope turned 26 on Monday, and in keeping with the boy band’s tradition, he aired a V Live broadcast to celebrate his birthday with fans.

“I read about all those donations (that fans did to celebrate my birthday). I really thank you all,” the rapper and dancer said at a hotel room in Fukuoka, Japan.

The livestream started 40 minutes to midnight Sunday, with the title “Hope day countdown.”

The septet held its second and last concert in the city earlier in the day and was scheduled to fly back to Korea on Monday, J-Hope said.

Bandmates showed up and threw a surprise birthday party for him.

“As some of you have noticed, Suga is not here with us. He fell asleep,” RM said.

When the topic of birthday presents was brought up, J-Hope said, “My life, as it is now, is like a present.”

He added that fans mean so much to him.

“You are my dear people and your happiness is my happiness,” he said.

Suga’s solo V Live reintroduced as editors’ pick

BTS member Suga’s post-concert solo livestream was V Live editors’ pick on Monday.

The four-minute clip, cut from the original 30-minute broadcast, features the rapper joking about the generational gap between him and his teenage fans.

“(Teens) don’t know why the “save” icon has the image of a floppy disk, because they have never seen one,” he said during the livestream, which he aired from a hotel room in Japan.

He talked about his school days, mentioning how students preferred not to carry around shoe bags at the time and just held slippers in one hand and that there was always a street vendor selling baby chicks in front of his school.

Hyomin previews new EP

Hyomin released a preview of her upcoming EP “Allure” via V Live on Monday.

The audio clip featured snippets -- 10 seconds each -- of all tracks, including the title track.
