Kang Daniel, formerly of boy band Wanna One, has come to blows with his agency LM Entertainment over the ownership of social media accounts under his name.

The singer took to his fan site on Sunday to issue a lengthy statement in which he said he is currently “in dispute with” his agency, and multiple requests to hand over his social media accounts to him have been denied.

He also said he would create a new Instagram account Tuesday at noon and that he made the decision after giving the matter a great deal of thought.

The revelation comes after reports that the singer was preparing to depart from LM Entertainment and seeking a new business partner.

Kang, who finished first in the second season of Mnet’s audition show “Produce 101” was set to release a solo album in April and embark on a fan meeting tour in Asia, according to multiple reports. But the plans are now up in the air as he and his agency make contradicting claims over their relationship.

LM Entertainment has said that it would do its best to reach an agreement with Kang through active communication.
