“This is too unexpected. I’m not ready and let me at least put on lip balm,” he said, excusing himself briefly before properly addressing fans online. “Actually I was in the middle of adjusting the camera and pushed the start button by accident.”

“I so much wanted to say ‘thank you’ to you all. Thank you really. (Being on ‘SNL’) was such a great opportunity and I still can’t believe it,” he gushed.

“We had a rehearsal two days ago and seeing the band prepping, everything felt surreal. But taking to the live stage made me very nervous,” he admitted.

“I am relieved that it went quite smoothly. It was such a meaningful and happy experience and I really appreciate it,” he added. Also expressing gratitude for their music video breaking the record as the fastest music video to log 100 million views on YouTube, Jungkook solemnly told fans, “You are paving the way for me, showing me the way. You are my everything.”

“We have already wrapped up our third week since releasing our new album and this time we think we are enjoying (performing) more on the stage ourselves. It’s good to share our unique energy with you,” said the leader of the nine-piece boy band.

“Last week, we came first! Oh my gosh. Just wanted to say ‘thank you’ to everyone,” he said enthusiastically. “It feels strange. We are grateful and ecstatic over topping the chart, but at the same time also feel that we should put more of ourselves from now on.”

His first pick for the day was Seven Lions, Illenium and Said the Sky’s “Rush Over Me,” a melodic electronic track recommended by his friend in Australia.

“I haven’t even changed for this,” said the idol, still wearing a suit and sucking on a grape-flavored lollipop, getting into the rhythm of American pop group Why Don’t We’s “Talk.” “I really like this song, ever since the release,” he said.

As for taking over the microphone from bandmate Jinho at 1 a.m., “I couldn’t sleep. You can go to sleep if you want,” he explained with a mock pout. Although he had a busy day lined up, he caved in to his craving for a burger, saying, “I’ve already placed an order.”

He indulged fans’ request for Pentagon’s recent “Sha La La,” showing off some moves from the choreography before wondering how others do it, “Is there some kind of a know-how?”

The bandmates got on a sightseeing cruise on the river Seine, enjoying the nighttime view of the Paris capital from the upper deck. “This is an unusual experience,” said leader JB. “How nice would it be to just sit there (along the river) and enjoy the view?”

Although the rain started to drizzle, sending most of the other tourists down below, Bambam enjoyed himself, waving hello to passers-by. Blowing kisses and dancing on the deck, he declared, “This is the best moment of my life.”

The next day they were back in gear and greeted by screaming fans who pushed up the temperature of the performance venue, which lacked air conditioning in June when it was shot. The staff tried in vain to cool them down, but Yugyeom said, “It’s challenging but we hang in there with all our might. For the passion (the fans show). You saw them stomping, right?”
