“It is my birthday today,” said Ahn with a sheepish grin, telling fans that not everyone from the band could gather in front of the camera at the same time since they were busy preparing to go onstage for a concert in Kobe.

Lee Chaeyeon was the first one to come up to Ahn to deliver a message. Staying behind the camera, she handed over a banana to the birthday girl and talked through the fruit.

“If there is any issue that needs to be solved, she undertakes the role of a handler. And thank you for taking care of us despite being the youngest,” said the bandmate before leaving to get her hair done.

“We brought a cake to Wonyoung’s room for her birthday yesterday and I secretly wondered what the band members would do for mine. We were on the move, riding a Shinkansen, when it turned midnight. Hyewon, who was sitting next to me, began singing ‘Happy Birthday’ quietly and I thought everyone else must be sleeping. But in about five minutes, the rest of them started singing the song and bringing cupcakes,” she said.

“It has been such a long while,” said the idol enthusiastically, waving to his fans.

“We sang three songs … and had so much fun onstage yesterday,” he said, giving the thumbs-up sign. He was referring to a performance at an outdoor music festival at Incheon International Airport, and he thanked the fans for cheering for the band at the venue and from home.

“Should I not cut my hair?” asked Seungmin, awaiting fans’ comments. His hair -- peeking out from under a beige cap -- was probably at its longest ever, he said, adding that he had been growing it recently.

The performer also thanked fans for liking his photographs of Woojin and Han, taken at the set of the band’s “Side Effects” music video and uploaded on his Instagram account.

Blowing out candles on a cake that spelled out “I Heart You,” the five band members patted each other and their fans on the back.

“This is not the last time, of course, but at the signing session, I felt a zing in my heart,” said Yeji.

“Every time we wrap up a phase, although there have only been two, it feels this way. There are so many opportunities for us to meet you but after seeing you so often over the past month, we will miss you,” added Lia.

Yuna confided that she was deeply moved when a fan came up to her to get her autograph and told her that she had made a very happy memory and had experienced a lot of new things thanks to ITZY.

“Rather it is I who actually is going through these unbelievable experiences,” she said, expressing her gratitude.

Between takes for group shots in a red theater, I.M asked after Jooheon’s dog. It took him a second to realize which dog he meant, and Jooheon told the bandmates about the first time the dog met his two cats.

“Why are you only calling the cats as your own?” asked Hyeongwon. Jooheon said the dog belongs to his mom, not him.

“(Jooheon and the dog) are competing for their mother’s love rather than being brothers,” joked Wonho.

“He has hurt me so much,” replied Jooheon.

After the shooting resumed, Jooheon stared at Hyeongwon from a few seats away, and Hyeongwon tried to remain cool for a close-up. Jooheon and Wonho kept on directing remarks at Hyeongwon, who caved in and snickered only to be kicked out of the scene by the director.

When the camera turned to focus on Kihyun, the boys began picking on him, and Kihyun admitted that it was not easy to keep a straight face. Then he apologized to Hyeongwon for chiding him with a handshake.
