Big Bang members Taeyang and Daesung completed their mandatory military service Sunday. Many local media outlets reported from the scene, where both band members were discharged from the service after 20 months.

“Thank you to so many people who came today,” said Taeyang, who seemed excited and nervous. “It’s hard to believe that I am being discharged. Depending on how you look at it, the time (in the military) seemed both short and long. But it was a very meaningful period. I would like to thank my fellow comrades and superiors who led me for the past 20 months despite my shortcomings.”

“I’ve learned and felt so much during (my time in) the military,” said Daesung. “I have felt emotions that I haven’t experienced before, and I learned to understand other people more. To all the soldiers and my supervisors that are working hard even at this time to protect the country, I would like to say thank you and I love you.”

On their future plans, Taeyang said the two musicians need lots of wisdom. “We will put in a lot of thoughts and discussion amongst ourselves and would like to repay (you) with good things. We will work hard to show you many sides that we were unable to show you during the military period.”

With Big Bang members T.O.P and G-Dragon having been discharged in July and October, respectively, all four members have now completed their service.

To celebrate Momo’s 23rd birthday, the musician from Twice went on V Live to thank her fans and make a cake with them.

“Thank you so much to our fans who celebrated my birthday together,” said Momo. “Thank you for all your special events and donations you gave in my name. I had a fun birthday.”

During the broadcast, she made a strawberry layer cake. Momo cut up all the strawberries, spread whipped cream between the layers and placed the sliced strawberries in the middle along with strawberry jam. At the end, she covered the whole cake with yellow frosting and decorated the top of the cake.

Momo said she enjoyed cooking and would love to cook for her fans and eat together someday.

Fellow bandmates Tzuyu and Nayeon made a surprise visit with another cake and they all celebrated together. They also tried the cake that Momo made.

“Momo’s cake is pretty good,” said Tzuyu. The girls also talked about their first impressions and answered viewers’ questions.

TXT’s three youngest members -- Huening Kai, Taehyun and Beomgyu -- went live for a Q&A session.

When asked who looked the best in a school uniform, the members picked Soobin, saying he could pull it off naturally.

Later on, Soobin stopped by briefly and said hello.

“I am already 20 years old, and I am grateful to be picked as the person that looks good in a school uniform. I am happy.”

When asked if there were any songs that the members wanted to sing cover versions of, Beomgyu picked “Malibu Nights” by Lany, while Taehyun said he wanted to do any pop song. Huening Kai said he wanted to try any song by Shawn Mendes.

Since winter is approaching, the members talked about the cold weather. Beomgyu said he liked the cold air so he liked going outside, while Huening Kai liked staying home and drinking hot chocolate.
