Korean singer and television personality Tak Jae-hoon has divorced from his wife, ending a 10-month acrimonious legal battle since he first filed for divorce in June.Lawyers for both Tak and his former wife Lee Hyo-rim said a "sensible" settlement had been reached Friday regarding custody, property division and damages. Both declined to disclose details.Tak will pay for his children‘s educational and childrearing expenses, according to local reports.

The 46-year-old singer, a former member of popular duo Country Kko Kko, has a son and daughter from his 14-year marriage to Lee."Tak feels sorry that he has created a divorced family," said a spokesperson for Tak, according to local reports. "He will try his best to help protect (his children's) future."The same source said Tak and his former wife had communicated a lot during the divorce proceedings and learned to understand each other better."Tak will spend more time with his children for the time being, though he is receiving a lot of (work-related) offers," said the source, adding that the children had suffered during the drawn-out legal battle.Tak's former wife filed a damages lawsuit against him in February, claiming that he had affairs with three other women during their marriage.

Lee claimed that Tak had spent money lavishly on his paramours -- such as paying for their college tuition fees, medical expenses, travel expenses and gifts -- while neglecting to take care of his family. Tak's agency denied the allegations.The singer previously received a six-month jail sentence suspended for a year in 2013 for gambling, which is illegal for Koreans.Tak debuted his musical career in 1995, after which he launched his acting career. He was one of Korea's most popular television hosts in the 2000s, winning the KBS grand prize for entertainment in 2005, followed by another prize at the same event in 2007.By Yoon Sarah ()
