Son Ho-young, a former member of K-pop group g.o.d., said he had broken up with announcer Hwang Bo-mi in response to the local media’s report on Wednesday. The online news outlet reported that Son, 35, and Hwang, 26, had been dating for nine months. According to the report, Son attended Hwang’s graduation ceremony in February while Hwang watched Son’s singing performance on the KBS2 music program “Immortal Song.”

“Son and Hwang dated for a while, but recently, their relationship waned and they decided to remain good friends,” said Son’s agency MMO Entertainment through an official statement. Hwang hosts local TV channel SBS’ baseball program “Baseball S.” Prior to her career as a newscaster, she played supporting roles in in TV dramas and films such as “Master’s Sun” (2013) and “Ugly Alert” (2013).Son debuted in 1999 as a member of g.o.d., which shot to stardom with hits such as “Lie” and “One Candle.” The five-member group led the K-pop scene until 2005, when the members parted ways to pursue separate paths.
